Getting started

The Home-Building System: Unlock First, Decorate Later

Before decorating, sort out where plots and furniture come from — the two steps that stall most newcomers.

Step1

🗺️ Unlock plots Development Association level

You start with only 2 plots; extras unlock in batches at Development Association levels 4 / 6 / 8 / 11. In the plot management panel the first extra plot costs 100 coins and the next 4,000. Plot scale decides whether you're building a cottage or an estate.

Step2

🏠 Upgrade the house Bigger floor plan · unlocks decorating

Once the house reaches level 2 you can expand its floor plan by the mailbox, fitting more furniture and plants and unlocking the full decorating toolkit. Higher developer levels raise your build caps (including load), with a max height of three floors.

Step3

💰 Where coins are best spent Priority order

Community-agreed spending order: expand plots → Development Association upgrades → event/exchange shops → crafting material reserves → Bobby's Furniture Store daily picks. Limited event furniture rarely returns, so it outranks everyday shopping.

Furniture sources

Five Ways to Get Furniture

Each channel stocks different furniture, and limited sets almost always come from events.

Daily rotation🏪

Bobby's Furniture Store

On the residential street by the town square; stock rotates daily and grows with your developer level. Also sells some furniture blueprints.

Blueprint + materials🛠️

Craft at the Woodworking Bench

Unlocked at Development Association level 1; blueprints come from the furniture store, commissions, events, bubble discoveries and collection rewards. Wood, stone and Flawless Fluorite are the workhorses — don't skip the daily resource spots.

Limited events🎪

Event & Collab Shops

Limited events, collabs and trend seasons trade points for exclusive sets (like the Ashu collab series) — miss them and they rarely return.

Gacha / points🥜

Golden Acorn Exhibition & Collector Points

The Golden Acorn exhibition yields rare build materials like the Polar Hymn Ice Palace; Collector points trade for sets like Free as a Bird, Street Corner Diner and Flora's Garden.

Quest rewards🗺️

Quests & Build Festivals

Quest lines like the Treasure Route hand out the Golden House set; build festivals (like the Beaver Cup) have teams of 4 building together, with a showcase period to visit and like entries server-wide.

Style guide

Choosing Among the Nine Styles

The community's nine favorite directions, with key elements, palettes and who they suit — pick a style first, then find matching cases in the template library above to build along.

StyleKey elementsPaletteSuits
🏮 New ChineseArched gates, pavilions and corridors, screens, Luohan daybeds, tea sets, lanternsWood · off-white · ink green · deep brownPlayers who love courtyards and a classical mood
🌿 ForestLog furniture, rattan, hanging lamps, greenery, floating wooden cabinsNatural wood · beige · green · whiteF2P-friendly; the most community tutorials
🌻 CottagecoreWooden fences, old rattan chairs, farm tools, stone steps, nostalgic yardsEarth tones · grassy greenAnyone chasing that "grandma's yard" nostalgia
🏙️ Modern MinimalistFloor-to-ceiling windows, clean-lined sofas, storage walls, crisp linesOne dominant color + accent popsBeginners afraid of messing up (very forgiving)
🍓 Pink ModernModern structure + pink-toned furniture; the 60k-view Bilibili villaPink · cream whitePlayers who want the screenshot look
🏰 Fairy-tale FantasyCastle towers, crenellated arches, glass greenhouses, rose manorsCandy colors · white castlesBig-budget showcase builders with large plots
📻 Retro Nanyang / Mid-centuryVintage furniture, wooden bookshelves, old-style lamps, split-level layoutsDeep wood · ink green · brassFans of period character and a bookish air
🪟 JapaneseTatami, shoji-style partitions, paper lanterns, wooden cabinsLight wood · plain white · greyWorks wonders even on small plots
🕯️ Cream / Seafoam BlueCream interiors, blue-toned rooms, upholstered furnitureCream white · seafoam blueCozy bedroom and living-room moods
🎨 Once the style is picked — lock the whole house to one dominant palette (3 colors max), buy the big pieces first to set the skeleton, then layer small items and lighting for atmosphere. Save accent colors for easy-to-swap spots like chairs and cushions — the cheapest place to experiment.
Techniques

Three Lessons: Layout · Small Spaces · Lighting

📐 Layout lesson: zoning and flow

  • The six-plot zoning method: 2 plots for the main house (living room + bedroom + kitchen clustered to cut cross-plot running), 1 plot as a courtyard transition, the rest for functional zones like the farm, garden and tool sheds
  • Ground-floor flow: leave a 3-tile-wide entry path; kitchen by the courtyard door (quick veggie runs), L-shaped sofa + storage against the walls in the living room, open floor in the middle
  • Stairs & rooftop: build stairs against the outer walls so they don't eat the center; make the roof a walkable terrace for solar lamps and drying racks — doubles as a night-view deck
  • Soft dividers: low fences and shrubs zone a space without blocking sightlines — airier than walls

🪴 Small-space lesson: small plots, no squeeze

  • Tatami bedroom: build a 2×4 tatami zone in the center with stairs, and swap one low wall for a mid-height wall for layered depth
  • Vertical storage: cabinets flush against walls + stacking via mid/low walls and ceilings; use the space under the stairs for storage or a mini function nook
  • Overlap tricks: sofas, cabinets and shelves can stack and combine — the community has dedicated "sofa overlap" decorating tutorials
  • Light colors enlarge: base small spaces in log tones, cream, white and light blue; keep dark colors for local focal points only

💡 Lighting lesson: the scattered-light mood

  • Skip the ceiling grid: the trendy approach is "no main lights, all scattered sources" — wall lamps, table lamps and floor lamps lighting by zone
  • Mood combos: meteorite specimens turned into gem wall lamps, starry pendants over hollowed-out floors as star bridges, a teddy lamp in the corner, glass skylights pulling in natural light and shadow
  • Placement mantra: one lamp each for corridors, stairs, the entryway, the bedside and work zones; warm tones read cozier in night scenes
Social

Visiting Other Homes & Interacting

Half of all decorating inspiration comes from visiting — the neighborhood system makes "borrowing homework" easy.

12-player neighborhoods🏘️

Random Neighborhood Community

Each login drops you into a neighborhood of up to 12 players — pop into their homes for ideas anytime, zero task pressure.

ID visits🤝

Friend Visits

Open the social system from the Watch, add friends by their developer ID and visit each other's homes — you can also share meals and farm together.

Likes & decor👍

The Home-Like System

During festivals the mailbox at your door gains decorations based on likes received — the more likes, the fancier the trim. Good builds really do get seen.

Build festival🏗️

Build Festival Team Play

Teams of 4 build together live (like the Beaver Cup "Fairy-tale Wonderland" theme); the showcase is open server-wide for visits and likes, and winning teams take home custom trophies and e-certificates.

FAQ

Decorating FAQ

Which decorating style suits F2P players?
Forest is the friendliest — the community has plenty of "F2P floating cabin" and "forest log-style layout" tutorials, wooden furniture is cheap to craft and its materials gather daily; Cottagecore nostalgia (fences, rattan chairs, farm tools) also delivers on a low budget. Pink-modern and fairy-tale-castle builds lean hard on limited furniture and suit the late game.
How do home plots unlock? How much do they cost?
You start with 2 plots; extras unlock in batches at Development Association levels 4 / 6 / 8 / 11; in the plot management panel the first extra plot costs 100 coins and the next 4,000. Leveling the Development Association first is the prerequisite to expanding.
Out of decorating ideas?
Three steps: ① filter the template library above by style and open cards for build steps and pitfalls; ② wander the neighborhood community and build-festival showcases to see what's popular server-wide; ③ practice on small scenes first (a bedroom or bathroom) before taking on a whole house. And don't forget the daily resources to stock building materials.
How do I visit other players' homes?
Three ways: random-matched neighborhood visits (up to 12 players per session), entering a developer ID for a targeted visit, or entering a friend's yard hand-in-hand. During build-festival showcases you can also like your favorite works.
How many floors can a building have?
The height cap is three floors, and rooftops can be walkable terraces. When building tall, watch your home's load limit — it grows more generous as your developer level rises.
